Buy/Sell/Trade

Sandy is making a hard decision....    Due to some issues, I need to sell my horses "Bo & Ned".   I know that the market is not a selling market.  I really want them to go to good homes, they both have earned it.....

A lot of the members of MOTDRA and OERC know Bo and know him well.  His registration name is "Niques Kyd Bocephis" with the PtHA.  He is a wonderful horses, with a lot of heart and personailty.  There is nothing that I have asked him to do and he didn't deliver.  He is fun to ride and to take care of......

He has no bad vices and can be handled by anyone.  He is a reg pinto, but has a lot of arabian in him. He is 15yo and completely sound. He is a pretty Bay paint and 14.5 hands, to pretty to put into words.   I am asking $1500 for him.  Bo would make a perfect 1st time horses owner or a distant rider that needs to be taken care of on the trail.

On the trail, he is not buddy or barn sour.  He will travel in a pack in the front, middle or in the back.  He know his job on the trail and is fun to ride.

Then I have Ned registration name is "BRA Nafis Al Nadeem", his is reg Arabain......  He is a sweet guy and will make a GREAT distanct horse.  He does have trust issues, but has come a long way.  He is 7yo and completely sound.  He is a Dark bay and 15 hands.  I am asking a $1000 for him.

He will be a excellent distant horse.  I have not worn him out yet....  He travels and moves down the trail at a nice pace and smooth to ride.

Both of the horses have been barefoot trimmed for 6 years.  Ned has never had shoes on him.

STANDING AT STUD

            Max

Color photos by Kathy Wismer

Max is a coming 8 year old who really has found himself this year, mentally and physically. Always easy going, this year he has filled out and matured into a handsome young man. He has a marvelous canter that you have to see to believe. We've worked on building a strong trot and extended walk, both of which are starting to work well for him. A really exceptional trail horse, Max is going into his second endurance season carrying a relatively inexperienced rider and is doing well. We are both learning our trade, so to speak. As a rider, what I like best about him is his built-in ability to take care of himself on trail. I just don't have the experience to know when to shut down on an endurance ride and when to push, so he willingly does it for us. He has sired five foals, of which we have pictures of three, so feel free to get a hold of us if you want some baby pictures! Number six is due soon, and we are VERY excited! Frozen semen preferred, live cooled only by arrangement since collection has to fit into our ride schedule.

2007 Stallion service fee: $500 + Mare owner pays for collection fee.

Longtime AERC member and distance rider Chris Anton has written a children’s book about endurance riding. “Starman” is a 32 page book with illustrations about a horse who wanted a home, a girl who foiund him,  and how they became an endurance team together. It’s base4d in part on adventures Chris has had with her own first distance horse, Star.  Proceeds from sale of the book go to horse rescues. Chris picks a different rescue each month to be the recipient. And for August and September, she’s also donating part of the proceeds to benefit Nancy and Monte Mitts. As most of you know, Monte has been hospitalized longterm with a neuro-muscular disorder. The book costs $10.50 plus shipping.  ($10 for MOTDRA members) You can buy it directly from the printer, Lulu.com, or from Chris if you want a signed copy. Go to www.starman.20m.com for more information about the book. There are links on the home page to order the book. You also may email Chris at chrisnstar@hotmail.com to get a copy.  For $10.50 you can inspire a child to distance riding, help feed a homeless horse, and help fellow endurance riders. That’s a lot of good for a little money!
